why OKRs?

Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) are a goal achieving framework to accelerate growth and drive innovation by helping teams see how their work fits into the overall company’s objectives.

“OKRs are a shared language for execution. They clarify expectations: What do we need to get done (and fast), and who’s working on it? They keep employees aligned, vertically and horizontally.”

John Doerr in his book “Measure What Matters”

The OKR methodology

The OKR methodology is a collaborative, goal-setting framework that helps teams and organizations reach their goals through identifiable and measurable results. By design, the OKR framework works across teams to create a standard the whole company can adopt and gives purpose to teams and organizations, along with higher levels of creativity and individual accountability.

“Committing to transparent OKRs across the entire organization means everyone knows the priorities and can self-organize to achieve the goals”

Program Benefits

OKRs are all about FOCUS. When most business objectives get cascaded top-to-bottom, OKRs are an up-side-down pyramid of responsibility that gets designed by employees. Every employee is entrusted with very specific KPIs that define what is expected of them. OKRs come in to explain HOW those KPIs are going to be achieved. It is more about the OUTCOME rather than the OUTPUT. Therefore, a close focus on the Key Results to an OKR promises the exertion of less resources for a better outcome. That is because of the total clarity on the specific efforts deployed to reach any Key Result, keeping what works and replacing what doesn't. As simple as that.

"Focus is the building block of achievement, and OKRs are the best tools for group focus" Captain Khalid
